New Exhibit: Amphibians and Wetlands of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
Splash into the secret world of our small yet stunning neighbors! This beautiful photo exhibit, created by researchers and photographers from the University of Idaho, introduces you to the amazing amphibians that call Teton Valley home. From tiny chorus frogs to magnificent tiger salamanders, these critical critters are nature's unsung heroes - and they're facing some serious challenges. Learn more about our wetland ecosystems and what you can do to help them thrive.
This traveling exhibit from Idaho State University represents years of careful research, cataloguing, and photography by regional citizen scientists (everyday community discovery agents!), Dr. Charles Peterson (University of Idaho and Idaho Museum of Natural History), Debra Patla (former Field Coordinator for the Cooperative Amphibian Monitoring Project in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem), Andrew Ray (National Park Service), and Ben LaFrance (National Park Service).
We are lucky to welcome this traveling exhibit to Driggs that has also been featured at Idaho Natural History Museum, Idaho State University, BYU-Idaho, the Teton County Library in Jackson, and the West Yellowstone Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Don't miss this great opportunity to learn more about our indispensable amphibian friends.

New Exhibit: Driggs' Darling Clementine
Today, it's unusual to see horses used as routine transportation in Teton Valley but one remarkable pair defied convention. For 23 years, Clementine the Horse and her owner Vancie Turner became local legend as they made their almost daily journeys down Driggs' Main Street, visiting local businesses and greeting friends along the way. Their steadfast presence became a cherished symbol of our small-town culture, earning Clementine the title of Driggs' unofficial mascot.
Also featured, are a collection of historic photographs that reveal how horses shaped survival and daily life for Teton Valley's inhabitants in the early 1900s.
This community curated exhibit celebrates Clementine's impact through memories: photographs, paintings, quotes, and stories shared by community members and visitors. You'll discover how one charismatic horse, and her best friend Vancie, touched many lives and preserved a connection to our Valley's roots.
Honoring Clementine's legacy following her passing in January 2025, this tribute launches our new Community Portraits rotating exhibit series - a celebration of the stories that shape our distinctive rural community. We are grateful to Teton Springs Foundation for their support of the Community Portraits series.
